Life is  Too Short To Be Ordinary

In 1996, The 70273 Project Founder Jeanne Hewell-Chambers wrote her first book – Life is Too Short To Be Ordinary: 365 Ways to Live More Creatively At Home, At Work, & Everywhere In Between. In the fall of 2017, Jeanne found one last box of those books – all in excellent, new, mint condition – and while supplies last, she’s selling them to benefit The 70273 Project. Divided into months, there’s kindling for ways to step outside of your box for every day of the year, and at the end of the calendar year, what better time to  procure a book for yourself and to go under the tree for others. Oh, and she’ll autograph them for you if you’ll just leave a message in the space provided when placing your order.

Copies of Life is Too Short o Be Ordinary pictured here on The 70273 Project Quilt #55, Pieced and Quilted by Margaret Andrews with blocks made by people from around the world.

Art Quilt: Apocrypha 3

Nancy, the mentally disabled sister-in-law of The 70273 Project Founder Jeanne Hewell-Chambers, is easily overlooked and often shoved aside in a world where everything is seen in terms of black and white, where metaphor is a foreign language, where there is only one right answer. Since June 2012 Nancy draws, and Jeanne stitches her drawings. This is drawing #11 from Nancy’s third set of drawings, and the quilt is hand stitched and machine quilted. Note: the bamboo hanger has some imperfections . . .  just like Jeanne and Nancy.

Measurements:
without hanger: 9 5/8″ x 13.5″
with hanger: 15.5″ x 15.5″

Thread Keepers

Whether stitching blocks for The 70273 Project or doing needlepoint, crewel, cross stitch, or any other needlework, keep your threads, fabric strips, and ribbons organized while you work by using The 70273 Project Thread Keeper. Each Thread Keeper measures 4.5″ x 6.5″, weights less than a pound, and is a handmade one-of-a-kind useable art piece created by Heather Muse of MuseFire Creations. Twelve holes stand ready to hold thread, ribbon, cording, fabric strips or anything else you’re using. They’re so handy, perhaps you want to get one for each project in your studio!
