my daughter is having some health problems, so i decided to send the husband and dog back up the mountain while i stay and take care of her for a while. on any give day, i am a get-up-when-i-wake-up girl, but today as she sleeps upstairs, i create my own country on the planet called Bed. surrounded by my journals, computer, and cloth, i stitch, read, nap, and write at will.
and i am still in my pajamas.
it is luxurious (and maybe a bit decadent) this impromptu retreat for one.
but i am not totally alone:
sweeter than our first home grown peach, well, almost.
well sug, you made me laugh . . . which disturbed the grandcats and sent them flying . . . which means i am now totally Alone. so thank you.
In order to give great “we” time, one needs to remember “me” time. Southern women so often sacrifice themselves for family. “Me” takes a backseat to “We”. Well, I’ve never seen a car drive well when the driver was in the back seat…..same goes for families. Mom needs “me” time in order to lead the “We” where it needs to go.
tom, i do love your downhome wisdom and your grounded insightfulness . . . and as has been true for a Long Time, your way with words.
Hi Jeanne 🙂
I didn’t know that your daughter was ill; I hope she gets well soon. Taking some time for you and your daughter is anything but indulgent. It’s necessary for good health–both physical & mental.
You have such beautiful kitties =^..^=
Thinking it’s a Vitamin D deficiency that’s causing the frequent falls, terrible leg pain, and incredible tiredness. She started the supplement last night, so fingers crossed. Hoping your mother is better and better and that you’re caught up now. This mother-daughter day of rest does feel quite necessary. Been a long time . . .
